Technical Writer


Location: Prefer candidates within 30 miles of an Aunalytics office (South Bend, IN / Traverse City, MI / Kalamazoo, MI / Bellefontaine, OH). However, open to remote work for exceptional talent.
Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

This role is cross-functional between product, development, and operations. You will be taking feedback and requests from across the company, learning about and documenting new product features, and explaining existing features and workflows in concise and useful ways. You should be passionate about exploring and understanding systems, and about communicating with peers and colleagues across a variety of disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize documentation projects as assigned based on assigned prioritization and delivery commitments
  • Independently work with Development teams, Product Management, internal users, and key business stakeholders to gather data for creation/revision of documentation for product releases
  • Obtain a deep understanding of our products and solutions to determine the needs of end users and translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Design and write end-to-end guidance that makes it easy for internal operations and external client to get started with our products
  • Create diagrams and illustrations to explain technical and product concepts
  • Gather usability feedback from internal and external end users

Preferred Skills

  • At least 2-4 years of experience writing technical documentation or training
  • BA/BS degree in English, Technical Communications, Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to learn complex concepts quickly and explain them with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Sound knowledge of technical writing fundamentals, industry standard writing styles and content organization.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management, Document Control and/or Business Process Management methodologies and software.
  • Customer obsession with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Portfolio of writing sample for review
