Systems Engineer (Project Engineer)

Location: Prefer candidates within 30 miles of an Aunalytics office (South Bend, IN / Traverse City, MI / Kalamazoo, MI / Bellefontaine, OH)
Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

As a Systems Engineer, you will build, deploy, monitor, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot daily remote access technologies. You will complete client projects with their systems and infrastructures. Our Systems Engineers are responsible for maintaining user up-time and improving their computing experiences through effective project outcomes and problem identification and resolution activities. Candidates must be energetic and focused with a strong motivation, dedication, and persistence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement the pre-approved Statements of Work (“SOWs”) and deliver projects on time and within scope; ensuring all work meets AU quality standards
  • Follow approved Aunalytics and project management methodology, ensuring that all of the required steps are followed, deliverables are produced, and approvals are obtained from the appropriate parties
    • Participate in project/customer kickoff meetings, status reports, and milestones
    • Troubleshoot and resolve client issues during implementation to ensure on-time results within scope
    • Notify Manager and Project Manager when project requirements appear to be moving beyond scope
    • Maintain responsibility for project/program issue resolution, escalating to the manager when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field – or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Office 365 Administration, preferably including Active Directory, Group Policy, MFA (Duo/Okta) and Patch Management
  • 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience with Server or Desktop virtualization (VMware vSphere and vCloud)
  • Expert knowledge of Windows 10 and Server 2016/2019
  • Able to administer, implement, and troubleshoot larger, more complex, environments.
  • Admin-level proficiency in a second technology (networking, firewall, etc).
  • Knowledge of change control policies
  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required. Prior communication with C+ level executives a plus
